ARDI

The Institute is a Nairobi-based independent think tank which serves as a resource centre for training, research, information-sharing and policy dialogue in the fields of Transitional Justice, Human Rights and Rule of Law; Gender Justice and Equality; Human Security, Sustainable Development and Conflict Prevention; and Capacity Building, Information sharing and Partnerships (institute). It is expected to widen theoretical and practical skills of participants drawn from Africa and other developing regions. n Like International Center for Policy and Conflict (ICPC), the institute is a constituent of Africa Open Democracy Foundation (AODF) and exists to stimulate and support informed policy dialogue and develop human capacities. Central to its model of engagement with policy stakeholders is research communications.

The institute synthesizes research findings to draw out practical applications that can advance national and regional people-centered development programs. Information is shared using innovative, people centered communication processes. Written material is published and disseminated in user friendly methods.

ARDI adds value by improving information flows and policy dialogue. Our model delivers a long overdue, inclusive forum for public debate and engagement in national and regional development matters.

ARDI seeks support for its research programs and activities from foundations, multilateral organizations and donor institutions. It also welcomes donations from groups and individuals. The institute will appreciate support for independent think tank activities which includes a resource centre for training, research on relevant critical issues, information sharing and policy dialogue in the fields of Transitional Justice, Human Rights and Rule of Law; Gender Justice and Equality; Human Security, Sustainable Development and Conflict Prevention; and Capacity Building.

The Institute is currently consolidating a regional and international Library offering reference materials on transitional justice, human rights, development, gender, human security, Peace building and conflict resolution.
ARDI accepts donations in form of books, Computers and other financial and non financial support to support this initiative.
